Building a Sustainable Pathway

Identify Barriers that Impede Advancement

At One Accord, we believe lasting community advancement requires more than addressing a single need. Education, employment, income, housing, transportation, health, food, and other essential resources are interconnected. When one area is unstable, it can create barriers that affect a person’s ability to succeed in others.

Our approach is built around what we call the Matrix of Need: Health, Education, Transportation, Employment, Income, Shelter, Food, and Clothing. This framework helps us look beyond the immediate challenge to understand the circumstances that may be preventing individuals and families from moving forward.

Our Approach to Building Pathways to Opportunity

Rather than simply providing services, we work to build pathways that move people from need to stability, stability to opportunity, and opportunity to sustainable growth and prosperity.

This approach goes beyond addressing immediate needs by identifying the interconnected barriers that can prevent individuals and families from moving forward. Through education, strategic partnerships, mentorship, access to resources, and hands-on opportunities, One Accord helps people build the knowledge, skills, relationships, confidence, and stability needed to pursue opportunities for themselves and create a foundation for lasting and generational success.

How We Put Our Approach Into Action

Our four-step Community Investment Strategy provides a structured approach to discovering community needs, identifying existing assets, building meaningful partnerships, and investing in opportunities that create sustainable growth and advancement.

01

Discover

We listen to residents, families, and community stakeholders to understand their needs, identify barriers, and uncover the strengths, resources, and opportunities already within the community.

02

Partner

We bring together schools, nonprofits, businesses, government agencies, institutions, and community leaders to strengthen existing resources, and connect people with meaningful opportunities.

03

Teach

Education is at the center of our approach. Through educational pathways for youth, young adults, and adults, we provide learning experiences designed around the needs and opportunities of the communities we serve.

04

Practice

We create opportunities for participants to put learning into action through mentorship, hands-on experiences, and incubators that develop practical skills, experience, confidence, and the ability to succeed independently.
